The region’s agricultural sector is represented by 11 agricultural production cooperatives, 24 farms, five branches of agricultural companies.
The total area of agricultural lands is 73,697 hectares, of them 37,548 hectares are arable lands.
Some 3,886 people are involved in agricultural production.
The region specialises in
- grain, flax, potatoes, rape, vegetables growing;
- cattle and poultry breeding;
- dairy and egg production.
