| The accommodation for 631 families who live in shabby houses or houses that are in a dangerous condition will be built in Belarus in 2009, BelTA learnt from the housing construction department of the Belarusian Ministry of Construction and Architecture.
The total area of the housing to be put in operation is 37.4 thousand square meters. In the Brest oblast 95 families will get new apartments, in the Vitebsk oblast – 60, in the Gomel oblast – 80, in the Grodno oblast 120, in the Minsk oblast – 70, in the Mogilev oblast – 100, in the city of Minsk – 106. |

| The President of Belarus has submitted the bill “On amnesty in connection with the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazis”, BelTA has learnt from the presidential press service.
The amnesty is actively discussed in the Belarusian society. The amnesty laws act as an instrument of public assistance to the convicts who have taken the correct path.
The possible amnesty was touched upon during the recent interview of Alexander Lukashenko to the heads of Belarus’ major mass media. |

| A leasing company will be set up in Belarus, Economy Minister Nikolai Zaichenko said at a session of the Council of Ministers on December 23, BelTA informs.
It is one of the anti-crisis measures that are to be implemented in H1 2009. A leasing company will help advance Belarusian goods to the foreign market.
The Economy Minister informed the participants of the session on a planned reconsideration of the National Bank’s decision to cancel upfront payments. |
