Belarus' grain harvest 97.5% complete

Belarus has harvested grain crops (except for maize) on the area of over 2 million hectares, which makes 97.5% of the cropping area, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 28 August, Belarusian farmers have harvested over 6.44 million tonnes of grain, with the average yield of 31.2 centners per hectare (26.4 centners per hectare in the same period last year).

Minsk Oblast has produced 1,690,600 tonnes of grain. Brest Oblast's harvest is almost 1.2 million tonnes of grain. Grodno Oblast has harvested over 1.18 million tonnes of grain. Vitebsk Oblast has produced 917,100 tonnes of grain. Mogilev Oblast has harvested 768,100 tonnes of grain. Harvest in Gomel Oblast makes up 679,200 tonnes of grain.

The procurement order on grain is 815,000 tonnes this year. The order is 89.9% (732,300 tonnes) complete.
