Driving under the influence of alcohol is one of the most serious traffic violations. Alcohol impairs perception and slows reaction time, making driving dangerous for all road users.

There are strict penalties for driving a vehicle while intoxicated. Depending on the blood alcohol concentration or the concentration of alcohol vapors in exhaled air:

from 0.3 to 0.8 permille – a fine of 100 base units and deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for 3 years;

over 0.8 permille – a fine of 200 base units and deprivation of the right to drive for 5 years.
