On June 26, the town of Glubokoye became the center of a pan-Orthodox celebration dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the repose of Saint Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.

The solemn divine service was led by Metropolitan Benjamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, concelebrated by a host of bishops from Belarus and Russia. This emphasizes the significance of the event for the entire Orthodox Church.

At the cathedral gates, Metropolitan Benjamin was greeted by Bishop Ignatius of Polotsk and Glubokoye, Chairman of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee Alexander Shubsky, Chairman of the Glubokoye District Council of Deputies Vera Telitsa, and Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee Tatyana Tarasevich.

Alexander Shubsky warmly welcomed the distinguished guest to the Glubokoye land, expressing hope that the Metropolitan's prayers would bring peace and prosperity to every home, strengthen spiritual fortitude, and aid in the constructive work for the benefit of the native region. He presented flowers to the Metropolitan on behalf of the District Executive Committee, the District Council of Deputies, and all residents of the Glubokoye District.

The celebrations in Glubokoye became an important event in the spiritual life of Belarus, reminding of the feat of Saint Tikhon and his invaluable contribution to the preservation of faith and unity of the Orthodox Church.
