The long-awaited weekend is here, which means many of you will be heading to reservoirs for recreation. However, water is not just about joy… THINK ABOUT IT! From June 1 to June 24 alone, 21 people drowned while swimming in the Vitebsk region, including 4 children. The statistics are very grim.

The long-awaited weekend is here, which means many of you will be heading to reservoirs for recreation. However, water is not just about joy…
THINK ABOUT IT! From June 1 to June 24 alone, 21 people drowned while swimming in the Vitebsk region, including 4 children. The statistics are very grim.

To avoid tragedy, you need to be vigilant and follow the rules of safe behavior on the water:

IT IS FORBIDDEN:
to swim in unequipped, unfamiliar places;
to swim in places where signs with warnings and prohibitive inscriptions "SWIMMING IS PROHIBITED!" are posted;
to swim while intoxicated;
to swim beyond the buoys marking the swimming boundaries;
to swim on boards, logs, loungers, car inner tubes, inflatable mattresses.
to swim in stormy weather and during thunderstorms;

to swim up to motorboats, sailboats, rowboats, and other watercraft;
to jump into the water from boats, rafts, piers, as well as structures not adapted for these purposes.

PARENTS! The lives of your children in many cases depend ONLY ON YOU! Do not leave children unattended near water! Remember! A child should be within arm's reach of you!
REMEMBER! If someone is DROWNING, you must immediately call rescuers at numbers 101 or 112!

Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Vitebsk Region wishes you a pleasant, and most importantly, safe recreation on the water. Remember that your safety depends mainly on you. Unfortunately, WATER DOES NOT FORGIVE MISTAKES.
