To the applicant – how to become a rescuer

Those who have decided to dedicate their lives to the profession of a rescuer are invited to the University of Civil Protection (UCP) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus in Minsk.
The university offers training in the specialty "Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations" (male students only) and in the specialty "Fire and Industrial Safety" (male and female students). To be admitted, certificates of centralized testing in mathematics, physics, and Russian (Belarusian) language are required. The duration of full-time study is 4 years. Prior to admission, all candidates undergo mandatory professional selection, which includes: conducting special checks, studying moral and business qualities, medical examination by a military medical board, and determining the level of physical fitness of candidates.
The advantage of studying at the UCP of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is that all cadets are provided with accommodation, meals, uniform, state insurance and medical care, as well as a monetary allowance (an average of about 300 Belarusian rubles per month). During their studies, cadets have the opportunity to learn practical driving and obtain a category "B" driver's license. Upon graduation, the graduate is awarded the officer rank of "lieutenant of the internal service" and is guaranteed employment. Graduates are most often assigned to their place of residence or to units located nearby.
Applicants who do not pass the competition for state-funded places can participate in the competition for full-time study on a fee-paying basis.
For those who did not get admitted to the UCP, a good choice would be
Admission to Polotsk State Chemical-Technological College for the specialty "Emergency Prevention and Response" with a full-time study period of 2 years and 7 months on a state-funded basis. The college accepts young men aged 17 to 25 who have a certificate of general secondary education. Dormitory accommodation is provided to all in need.
College graduates receive the vocational qualification of "Rescuer-Firefighter" and are employed in emergency response bodies and units in positions of enlisted and junior command staff. Upon graduation from college, graduates are eligible to enroll in the University of Civil Protection for a shortened part-time study program (study period - 3 years).
