Belarusian law enforcement officers have blocked an illegal migration channel

Officers of the 10th Department (for Minsk Region) of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in cooperation with colleagues from the Department for Citizenship and Migration of the capital, have uncovered a scheme for illegal migration of citizens of Asian countries to Belarus. This was reported to BelTA by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It was established that a 65-year-old resident of the Minsk region, his 20-year-old son, and 35-year-old daughter were engaged in illegal business. None of them were employed; the father and daughter had previous convictions for drug-related offenses. In a group with other accomplices, they organized the stay of foreigners in our country.
They helped migrants enter from Russia bypassing checkpoints, accommodated them in a private house near Minsk, and advised them on security measures. The ultimate goal of the illegal migrants was the European Union.
The cost of such services started from $100 per person. The total number of individuals who used these services is being determined.
With the support of the special forces unit "Rys" of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the offenders and their seven clients were detained.
Investigators have initiated a criminal case for organizing illegal migration. The issue of expelling the migrants is being resolved. Measures are being taken to identify all individuals involved in the criminal activity.
