“You can never have too much security!”. A big interview with the head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Security Department

— Sergey Sergeyevich, 73 years is not just a number, it is an entire era. Considering such an impressive historical path that the Security Department has gone through, what are the most striking, even fundamental changes you could highlight?
— This contrast is truly colossal. Just the other day, we had a visit from a former head of the department, retired police colonel Vladimir Efremov, and we were reminiscing about the times when the non-departmental security was just emerging. He spoke about the conditions in which our predecessors worked. Imagine: a small staff, equipment — one car per unit, motorcycles in some places. The people, of course, were dedicated to their cause, but did not always have the professional training that was required. Not to mention the absolute lack of modern technical means.
