Summer is a vacation for adults and long-awaited holidays for children. Holidays are free time, friends, entertainment. And when else, if not in summer, to ride a bike, swim in the river, scratch your knees, tear your pants, and sneak into the neighbor's garden for apples. And for grandmothers, grandfathers, dads, and moms, it's a time of worry and problems. After all, the most important thing is to prevent anything from happening to your beloved child. Therefore, let's recall once again the dangers of summer holidays in the village and at the dacha and try to avoid trouble together.
In the village with grandma, literally in the first days of the holidays, the "city grandchildren" took matches and lit a fire behind the garden to roast bread. On one side - a shed with hay, on the other - a shed with firewood, a few steps away - a bee apiary. The neighbor noticed the bluish smoke in time, and the whole company had to run home as fast as possible. Both the one who brought the matches, and the one who lit it, and the onlookers received their due.
When sending children to the village or to the dacha, remind them again about the danger of playing with matches, keep them out of reach of children, do not allow them to use gas appliances, and repeat the emergency service phone numbers with the child.
On the neighboring street, a house is under construction at full swing. From morning till evening, builders are working on the site. As soon as they leave, the children gather. There is no better place for games - there is something to climb on, something to jump over, and how interesting it is to play tag... The children were forbidden to play on the construction site only when Vanechka twisted his leg, and Dasha broke her knee.
Dear adults, if you have a long construction or repair ahead of you, fence off dangerous areas. Store tools and materials out of reach of children, taking them out as needed. Explain to children that playing on construction sites is unsafe.
The children, a noisy crowd, went to the lake. Egor's grandmother hurried after them - to look after her own,
and to shout at neighbors if necessary. The lake seems shallow, barely knee-deep for a sparrow, but last year everyone was terrified when a four-year-old boy, who was vacationing at the lake with his young parents, fell into the water and almost drowned. And another piece of advice – do not let your child swim alone, always monitor the situation. Be doubly vigilant if your child is swimming with an inflatable ring. Do not allow your child to swim for more than 10 minutes, dive in unfamiliar places, or play around in the water.
A village is not only about relaxation but also about tending to the garden and vegetable patch. If you have treated vegetables with chemicals, be sure to secure the area with some kind of fencing and clearly explain to the child that entering is strictly forbidden, especially picking and tasting everything that is green, yellow, or red in the garden. Store medicines and chemicals, necessary for both the garden and household needs, in places inaccessible to children. Make sure there are no poisonous plants on the property. If there is a forest nearby, show and tell your child which plants and berries should not be touched, let alone eaten.
However, despite our recommendations and advice, do not turn your children's holidays into a continuous stream of "don'ts." Just be vigilant and keep your eyes open.
A few additional tips for parents:
- Do not let children near the barbecue grill while cooking kebabs. This can result in serious burns.
- All containers with liquid located on the dacha or private property must be securely closed.
- Hide heavy and sharp tools (rakes, shovels, ladders) away from children.
- Monitor where, with whom, and what your child is playing with.
- Remind your child of traffic rules and discuss with them where they will be riding their bicycle.
