What's in Lukashenko's letter from Trump. Full, unedited content
January 20, 2026
The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has received a personal message from the President of the USA Donald Trump, in which Belarus is proposed to become a founder of the Peace Council - a new international organization in the context of resolving the situation in Gaza. The proposal, as stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was reported to the head of the Belarusian state and was positively received by him.
"Our position is as follows: we are ready to participate in the activities of the Peace Council, considering and hoping that this organization will expand its scope and powers far beyond the mandate proposed in the initiative. This will allow it to actively participate in global processes for resolving any international conflicts, which will ultimately contribute to building a new security architecture actively promoted by Belarus in recent years," the statement of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry noted.
In other words, Belarus hopes that in the future the council's activities will concern not only Gaza specifically or even the Middle East. That this organization (and this is how this new structure is positioned in the letter of the American leader) will expand its scope and powers, and resolving the issue of Gaza will be just the beginning of a great work for peace all over the world.
It is also important that the US sees Belarus - and this is directly stated in the text of the address - as a state ready to take on the noble responsibility of building lasting peace and to lead by example, investing in a secure and prosperous future for generations to come. Another detail is also interesting. Earlier in September, US Special Envoy for Belarus John K. K. Coulter delivered a letter from Donald Trump to Alexander Lukashenko, which included warm congratulations and wishes. John K. K. Coulter then specifically noted the fact that the US President signed the letter "Donald" at the end. "He very rarely signs with his first name. This is a special sign of friendship," explained the representative of the American leader. It is noteworthy that the current letter from Trump also contains his personal signature "Donald". It was published in the Telegram channel "Pool of the First". We present it in full, translated into Russian and in the original language:The White House

President of the Republic of BelarusDear Mr. Lukashenka,
Minsk
Dear Mr. Lukashenka,
It is my highest honor to invite you, as President of the Republic of Belarus, to participate in my momentous and grand undertaking, the goal of which is not only to establish lasting peace in the Middle East but also to create a new paradigm for resolving global conflicts.
On September 29, 2025, I unveiled the Comprehensive Plan to End the Conflict in Gaza. This unprecedented 20-point roadmap immediately received unanimous support from world leaders, including the heads of leading Arab nations, Israel, and European states. On November 17, the UN Security Council overwhelmingly approved Resolution No. 2803, officially endorsing the initiatives outlined in the plan. Today marks the phase of practical implementation of this vision. The key instrument of the Plan will be the Council for Peace. This structure, unprecedented in its mandate, will become an international organization serving as a transitional administration.
This endeavor will unite the cream of the global community – nations ready to undertake the high mission of building LASTING PEACE. The honor associated with this mission is reserved only for those who can lead by personal example, prudently investing in security and prosperity for our children and grandchildren. In the near future, we will convene our esteemed and dedicated associates, a significant portion of whom enjoy the highest international prestige.
As Chairman of the Council, I officially invite the Republic of Belarus to join as a founding member and, through you, to become a party to the Charter of the Council for Peace. This Council will be unique, unlike anything seen before in history! Each member state may appoint an authorized representative to participate in meetings on its behalf. The Comprehensive Plan and the Council's Charter are attached, which we invite you to sign and ratify.
I eagerly look forward to the opportunity to work with you in the future for our common goal – establishing LASTING PEACE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, PROSPERITY, AND A GREAT FUTURE FOR ALL!
With best regards,
Sincerely yours,
Donald J. Trump,
President of the United States of America
