The problem of child injuries remains relevant in the Republic of Belarus. It should be noted that each age group has its own specific dangers and injuries.
Among children under seven years of age, domestic injuries predominate, and among preschool children, they account for almost 80%. Parents often do not even suspect that certain items can pose a danger to a child. Here, parents can be advised to look at the world through the eyes of their child. Get down to the child's height and see what items might interest them and at the same time cause harm? A tablecloth with a vase on it, cords from a TV and computer, a cup of tea on the edge of the table, hot pots and pans on the stove, etc. Look around carefully and remove items that a child can reach. This way, you can avoid serious problems.
When it comes to young children, it can be unequivocally stated that injuries are caused by parental negligence.
An accident occurred on the afternoon of February 8, 2021. According to the investigation, a teenager was working in the yard of his house. When he was using an angle grinder, the disc burst and injured him. The teenager's mother sought medical help, but the young man could not be saved: he died in the ambulance.
The incidence of injuries among children increases during school holidays – thousands of children and their parents go on vacation to camps, villages, and summer cottages. Being in nature, children are happy for the opportunity to play, jump, and run. It is good when this happens under adult supervision, but if it is absent, a child can get injured.
When going to a summer cottage, village, or nature with children, familiarize them with the features of the area. Tell children about the animals that live there. That they are dangerous. Explain which poisonous plants can be found in the area, and why it is forbidden to try unknown berries or put them in their mouths.
leaves, drink water from unfamiliar sources and surface water bodies.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds: the life and health of children are the most important asset. Making their lives safe, protecting and safeguarding them from all dangers and injuries is the responsibility of parents. Teach your child how to properly call rescuers by dialing 101 and 112, and to call for adult help when in trouble.
