Children are waiting…

Marriage, family, motherhood, fatherhood, and, of course, childhood are under the protection of the state. Parents have the right and obligation to raise children, to care for their health, development, and education. These immutable provisions are enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, which, naturally, also corresponds to moral social norms.

The state purposefully takes measures that contribute to the support and protection of the family. Citizens fully understand their role in this noble cause, taking the necessary measures for the child's development in society as a personality, but, unfortunately, not all of them do, which leads to such a negative social phenomenon as orphanhood with living parents.

Parents or one of them may be deprived of parental rights in relation to their minor children if it is established that they evade their duties to raise children or abuse their parental rights, treat children cruelly, lead an immoral lifestyle that has a harmful effect on children, and are also chronic alcoholics or drug addicts.

For the current period of 2022, the court of Gluboksky district made decisions to deprive parental rights in 3 cases, including 2 claims filed by the district prosecutor.

Behind the simple numbers lie family tragedies, children's tears, and, as a rule, lifelong separation, and many children continue to wait and never stop hoping that their parents will mend their ways, learn to think about them, care for them, and take them home from children's institutions that have taken on parental responsibilities.
