Expert on the essence of the "Donro Doctrine": Trump wants to make the Western Hemisphere a US fortress

According to the new US National Security Strategy, sometimes referred to as the "Donro Doctrine" after US President Donald Trump, Washington aims to make the Western Hemisphere a Western fortress and compete for dominance over the rest of the world. This viewpoint was expressed by Igor Shishkin, an expert from the CIS Countries Institute, on the "In Focus" project on the BELTA YouTube channel.
"Trump clearly and concisely outlined his national security doctrine, where he declared that the Western Hemisphere will be a fortress of the United States. And the rest of the world is what Trump will fight for dominance over. As he said: we are reviving an updated Monroe Doctrine," noted Igor Shishkin.
The expert pointed out that the original Monroe Doctrine implied US dominance in the Western Hemisphere, while Washington did not interfere in the affairs of European powers. "The updated Monroe Doctrine (or, as it is sometimes called, Donro) is a doctrine according to which the Western Hemisphere is a zone of US interests, and they will fight for everything else," he emphasized.
Igor Shishkin drew attention to the fact that in its current form, a united Europe is not at all what the United States wants it to be. "The US prefers a group of friendly states there instead of the European Union, which 'tramples on the values of European civilization.' Was this said? Yes. That's all there is to it," the expert concluded.
