Electrical appliances have become an integral part of our lives. Today, we cannot imagine how we managed without electric kettles, microwave ovens, washing machines, and other household appliances that make our daily lives easier.
However, few people think about the fact that if the operating rules are violated, household appliances, and indeed any other electrical appliances, can cause a fire. Another issue is the condition of the electrical wiring itself in a house or apartment. Equipping their homes with all sorts of household appliances, many forget that the electrical wiring has long since become obsolete and is not designed for such a number of electrical consumers. But instead of replacing the wiring, we replace the fuses with more powerful ones, without thinking about the consequences.
On April 6, employees of fire rescue post No. 12 of the Sharkovshchina District Department for Emergency Situations, en route to tactical training exercises in the village of Voronka, Sharkovshchina district, noticed smoke coming from under the roof of a private house in this settlement. The head of the post immediately decided to change the route and inspect the dwelling, transmitting information to the operational control center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations unit at 10:20. They headed to the scene of a potential emergency. Upon reaching the residential building, it immediately became clear that there was heavy smoke coming from under the roof of the dwelling. The entrance door to the dwelling, from which the smoke was coming, was open, and inside only a muffled cough and a call for help could be heard. After checking all the rooms, rescuers found a woman on the floor; she was conscious. As it turned out later, it was the owner of the dwelling, a pensioner born in 1921. Ministry of Emergency Situations employees carried her outside and handed her over to the arriving medics. The fire was extinguished by rescuers; the walls and ceiling of the house were smoked, and property was damaged. The version being considered is a violation of the rules for operating electrical networks and electrical equipment.
On April 10, around midnight, the "101" line received a report of an open fire in a house in the village of Ostevichi, Miory district. Upon arrival
to the scene of the rescuers' call, the entire house was engulfed in flames, and there was a threat to neighboring structures. Inside the dwelling, on the floor under a layer of collapsed building structures, the body of the homeowner was discovered. The pensioner, who was 88 years old, lived alone and, according to neighbors, was characterized satisfactorily. As a result of the fire, the roof, ceiling, and property were destroyed, and the walls were damaged. The cause of the fire is being determined. The considered version of the cause of the fire is a violation of the rules for the operation of electrical networks and electrical equipment.April 21 at 21:05, rescuers received a report of a house fire in the village of Raitsy, Tolochin District. Upon arrival at the scene, rescuers observed heavy smoke and fire inside the house. At this time, the owner of the house, a pensioner born in 1946, was inside the dwelling. During the firefighting efforts, the body of the man was discovered by EMERCOM employees on the floor in a room. It is no secret that the electrical wiring in many residential buildings, especially in older ones, is far from ideal, and this can lead to a fire. Therefore, it is necessary to promptly check the condition of the electrical wiring, the operability of sockets, switches, circuit breakers, and other electrical appliances, not to use non-factory-made electrical appliances, not to leave them unattended, and not to overload the network by simultaneously switching on several electrical appliances. Under no circumstances is it permissible to use non-factory-made (homemade) protective devices, so-called "jumpers," instead of automatic fuses in electricity meters.
