Kazimierz Zdunowski: Belarusian companies should put more efforts into reaching international levels

Belarusian companies should put more efforts into reaching international levels and entering the international market. The opinion was voiced by Chairman of the Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kazimierz Zdunowski in Vitebsk on 24 October, BelTA has learned.

Kazimierz Zdunowski is in Vitebsk Oblast on 23-28 October on a business visit. The Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Vitebsk Oblast Marketing Center signed a partnership agreement in Vitebsk on 24 October.

“The agreement is designed to foster Belarusian-Polish cooperation in business matters. We will put more efforts into presenting our enterprises in Poland and providing assistance to partners for the sake of business development in Vitebsk Oblast,” explained Irina Makarenko, Director of the Vitebsk Oblast Marketing Center, who had signed the document alongside Kazimierz Zdunowski.

“Belarusian companies should trade their shares on the stock market. It is a good way to attract investments. Investors buy the stock while companies get the money. Belarusian companies are not used to doing things this way, yet it is very convenient and transparent. Your companies should put more efforts into reaching international levels and entering the international market,” Kazimierz Zdunowski was convinced.

Both Belarusians and Poles are interested in the promotion of economic cooperation. “It is possible to develop everything that people want to buy. There is a great interest in the development of agriculture, the processing industry and the food industry. Belarus should plant gardens, develop greenhouse vegetable production. For instance, a Polish standard private greenhouse produces 700 tonnes of merchandise per week. The Polish experience of agricultural production can be useful for Belarus,” said the Chairman of the Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

As for the assistance that the chamber of commerce and industry can provide to Belarusian business, the assistance can be rendered in many ways such as the ranking of sources of finance, development and preparation of possible options for signing bank loan contracts, search for partners, who will provide money or technologies. “There are very many educated people in Belarus. Supplying the technology, choosing the lending options with suitable time and costs will suffice for them to start working,” Kazimierz Zdunowski. He went on saying that requirements for the companies willing to cooperate with the Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry are simple and understandable. “They have to be alive. They may not be rich but they should have no debts or other unfinished liabilities. The managers have to be well-educated. We will handle any other matters,” said the Chairman of the Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Kazimierz Zdunowski has already visited Glubokoye District where he toured processing enterprises. In Vitebsk he was made familiar with companies located in the free economic zone. Kazimierz Zdunowski also met with top officials of the oblast administration and the district administration. On 25 October he is expected to visit Verkhnedvinsk District.
