Opening of Bulbuloglu’s star in Vitebsk to enhance Azerbaijan-Belarus friendship

The opening of the star of People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Polad Bulbuloglu on the Walk of Fame in Vitebsk will help enhance friendship and cultural ties between Belarus and Azerbaijan. The statement was made by Polad Bulbuloglu, BelTA has learned.

This year Polad Bulbuloglu will head the international jury of the pop song contest Vitebsk 2015 at the 24th International Festival of Arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk and will get a special award.

“I am grateful for the recognition of my creative work and the opening of the star with my name in Vitebsk. I was happy accept the invitation to perform at the festival’s concerts, including with the National Academic Concert Orchestra of Mikhail Finberg,” Polad Bulbuloglu said.

He said that he likes Belarus, its wonderful people, beautiful nature and good music very much. He has made many tours to Belarus. “I have many friends among musicians, performed several times with singer Viktor Vuyachich, legendary bands Pesnyary, Syabry. Head of Syabry Anatoly Yarmolenko who began his career in Baku is a good friend of mine. Of course, I am very excited that the star with my name will be opened. I believe that it will help promote Azerbaijan-Belarus friendship and cultural ties. Bilateral relations between our countries have always been stable, increasingly vibrant and relied on mutual respect. People in Azerbaijan appreciated the participation of the Belarusian president in the opening of the first European Games in Baku,” the artist said.

The Walk of Fame was founded near the Summer Amphitheater in Vitebsk in 2009. Such creative figures as Andrei Petrov, Alexandra Pakhmutova, Sofia Rotaru, Alla Pugacheva, Valery Leontiyev, Vladimir Mulyavin, Edita Piekha, Lev Leshchenko, Igor Luchenok, Nadezhda Babkina have special prizes of the Belarusian president Through Art to Peace and Understanding and stars with their names in Vitebsk.
