Postavymebel ships sample of its innovative products to Kazakhstan

Postavymebel has shipped to Kazakhstan a sample of innovative products, a modern Erismann school desk, in order to promote it through the distributor and participation in the procurement tender, BelTA learnt from director of the company Sergei Zemchenok.

Kazakhstan’s company Uchkollektor, a long-standing partner of the Postavy company, will present the product at the contest since Kazakhstan’s education system is served through procurement orders. “We have won local tenders before. For example, one time we shipped eight carloads of furniture for the physics room to Kazakhstan. The order brought us $1.2 million. We are placing great hopes on our new development. Moreover, Kazakhstan once voiced its intent for the scheduled purchasing of the Erismann desks in 2015. In the 19th century ophthalmologist and hygienist Friedrich Erismann came up with an idea of a school desk that allowed children keep good eyesight and correct posture. We patented a neutral model of the desk (without a footrest and a fly leaf) in 2012. Last year we used modern materials and technologies to develop our own version of the classical Erismann desk, more reliable, durable and cheap,” Sergei Zemchenok said.

The novelty got a diploma of the 6th international specialized exhibition Education Environment and Educational Technologies that took place in Minsk on 12-14 November. Following the expo the company got its first order from Minsk. Postavymebel is currently preparing another batch for the Belarusian capital. The volume is not big, but the company is ready to meet the needs for a bigger order. The company is purchasing additional necessary equipment. Besides, Postavymebel has submitted documents to register the model and hopes to get it patented soon.

The Erismann desk became one of the 20 types of new products developed at the company in 2014. Innovative production accounted for 43% which contributed to the 20% increase in production from 2013 (Br62.2 billion in 2014). The share of exports was not high at $400,000.

The Postavy producer of school furniture and equipment (at present OAO Postavymebel) was built in 1980 to secure the educational establishments of the Soviet Union with school furniture and equipment. The company produces over 200 descriptions of products. Thanks to its rich experience in the production of school furniture as well as a large-scale modernization, OAO Postavymebel successfully sells its products (desks, tables, workbenches, etc) and takes part in tenders. The company’s products are in great demand both in Belarus and beyond its borders (Latvia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan).
