Bishop Ignatius of Polotsk and Glubokoye led the festive Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
On behalf of the district administration, His Grace Bishop Ignaty was warmly welcomed by Vera Telitsa, Chairperson of the Glubokoye District Council of Deputies.
Bishop Ignaty of Polotsk and Glubokoye led the festive Divine Liturgy. Concelebrating with His Grace were representatives of the clergy from Glubokoye and neighboring deaneries of the Polotsk Diocese.
One of the special moments of the celebration was the awarding of clergy representatives for their service and great efforts for the benefit of the Orthodox Church. Thus, for diligence in church labors, the dean of the churches of the Glubokoye district, rector of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Glubokoye, Archpriest Mikhail Isoitko, upon the recommendation of Bishop Ignaty of Polotsk and Glubokoye, was awarded by His Eminence Metropolitan Benjamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, on the occasion of Holy Easter 2026, the right to serve the Divine Liturgy with open Royal Doors after the "Cherubic Hymn."
The rector of the parish of the Church of St. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa in the village of Chernevichi, Glubokoye district, Archpriest Sergiy Shpudeyko, was also honored with the same high church award.
"Axios! Worthy!" sang the clergy, and the cathedral choir echoed them. The joy for their priests filled the hearts of all those praying in the church.
A grand procession adorned the celebration of Bright Easter Week.

– On this sunny and joyous Easter day, in this holy church, we together glorify Christ and rejoice in His Holy Resurrection. Today, our joy is also multiplied by the presence of the new head of the Glubokoe district, Maxim Sergeevich Bakurov. This is truly the providence of God: I am meeting Maxim Sergeevich for the first time and have the honor to introduce him here to everyone gathered.
It is also providential that Maxim Sergeevich took over the district during the Easter days. I want to say that the people living on the Glubokoe land are exceptionally hardworking, very sincere, and profound. I warmly welcome you, Maxim Sergeevich, and wish you strength, God's help in your new service, so that we may all worthily serve our beloved Fatherland together.
