This day in the country's history

"This Day in the Country's History" is the title of an educational discussion dedicated to the October Revolution of 1917 and its significance in the history of Belarus. The event took place at the Glubokoye Historical and Ethnographic Museum on the eve of the 108th anniversary of this important historical event. Members of the district coordination council of public organizations and political parties, as well as representatives of the youth aktiv of the Glubokoye region, participated in the open dialogue.

The moderator at the dialogue platform was Vladimir Mironchik, a researcher at the Historical and Ethnographic Museum. The experts included Vera Telitsa, a member of the council of the district branch of the Belarusian Party "Belaya Rus" and Chairperson of the Glubokoye District Council of Deputies; Elena Telitsa, Head of the Secretariat of the district branch of the Belarusian Party "Belaya Rus"; Lyudmila Karnilovich, Chairperson of the district branch of the Belarusian Peace Foundation; Nataliya Voityul, Chairperson of the district branch of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers; Vladimir Rozvadovsky, member of the district branch of the Communist Party of Belarus; and Elena Myadelets, Chairperson of the district branch of the "Znanie" Society and Director of the Historical and Ethnographic Museum.

During the event, it was noted that the October Revolution is the most significant political event of the 20th century, which had a profound impact on the entire world. It allowed for the choice of a progressive path of development, rescued the country from centuries of backwardness, and subsequently ensured unprecedented rates of growth in the economy, science, industry, and agriculture.

Undoubtedly, the participants of the discussion focused on those events of the revolution that fundamentally influenced the socio-political structure of our republic, and spoke about the role of Belarusian political figures in the revolutionary transformations.
