The "Our Children" campaign in the Minsk region is concluded by the "Student of the Year" competition. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Minsk Regional Institute for Educational Development.
Today, the final of the traditional "Student of the Year" competition, which has been held in the central region since 2018, will take place at the Kolodishchanskaya Secondary School No. 2 in the Minsk District.
"The competition also traditionally becomes a bright concluding point of the republican campaign "Our Children". This year, the names of 18 young representatives from the districts, who became winners in six nominations, will be announced at the final. A total of 99 applications were submitted for participation in the competition. One more student, the nineteenth finalist, will be awarded a special prize from the Main Department of Education of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee," said Anna Chistaya, Deputy Head of the Center for Educational and Ideological Work of the Minsk Regional Institute for Educational Development.
Among the winners are students who have excelled in their studies, sports, social life, military-patriotic, creative, and volunteer activities.
Each participant was required to summarize information about their achievements in a short written work and create a portfolio that visually demonstrates the results of their activities. This also required considerable effort and creativity from the students, as they needed to impress the jury with their creativity and unconventional approach to the task.
"Today is an interesting and eventful day for the students. They will not only receive awards for participating in the competition, ask questions of interest to the leadership of the Main Department of Education of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee and deputies at a talk show, but also go on an excursion to the House of Representatives of the Republic of Belarus," said Anna Chistaya.
