In the Glubokoe district, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the unitary enterprise "Vitebsk enterprise of fire safety works" of the RGOO "Belarusian Voluntary Fire Society" continue an important campaign to install autonomous fire alarms in the homes of elderly people, thereby ensuring safety. This initiative is aimed at making the lives of elderly citizens more peaceful.

Elderly people most often live alone, and it is especially important for them to have a reliable "assistant" that will warn them of danger in time. An autonomous fire alarm can emit a loud signal in case of smoke and provide precious minutes for evacuation.

"Installing an alarm is not just a technical measure, but real life protection. This is especially relevant for the elderly, children, and people with disabilities," - notes Vladislav Volkov, inspector of the supervision and prevention sector.

During their visits, rescuers not only install equipment but also conduct preventive discussions, check the condition of electrical wiring and stove heating, and provide advice on eliminating identified violations.

A large-scale public information campaign about the effectiveness of using smoke detectors is an example of how government agencies and public organizations are joining forces for a common goal: to make the lives of the elderly safer and more peaceful.
