Глубокое. Зимняя ловушка: что таит в себе зимний водоём?

Deep. Winter trap: what does a winter body of water hide?

Winter is not just about fluffy snow and New Year's holidays. It is also a time of increased danger, especially for those who enjoy spending time on winter reservoirs. Frozen rivers and lakes covered with ice hide a deadly threat. It is during this period that the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) employees intensify their work, conducting preventive measures and warning the public about the dangers lurking on winter reservoirs.

At first glance, a frozen reservoir may seem safe. But this is a deceptive impression. The ice thickness can be uneven, especially in areas with currents, near the shore, under bridges, and close to bushes and trees. Even if the ice appears solid, it can be weakened due to temperature fluctuations or snow cover, which conceals cracks and thin spots.

Employees of the Glubokoye District Department for Emergency Situations, together with employees of the Glubokoye District Department of Internal Affairs and the Glubokoye Rescue Station, are working proactively by conducting a set of preventive measures: they regularly patrol and drive through potentially dangerous areas, and hold conversations with "life vest-less" individuals. In pursuit of a catch, they often neglect safety rules and venture onto thin ice, ignoring warning signs and rescuers' advice.

Preventing accidents on ice is not only the responsibility of rescue service workers but also the duty of every resident. It is important to follow the recommendations of rescuers, not to ignore warning signs, and not to put yourself and others in danger. Parents should explain to children why it is forbidden to play on the ice without adult supervision.

Only through joint efforts can the number of accidents be significantly reduced and lives be saved. It is important to remember that even the strongest ice can become dangerous with changes in weather conditions, so constant vigilance and caution are the key to safety.
