What events were held in the Glubokoye district as part of the republican environmental campaign "Mobility Week"?

As part of the republican environmental campaign "Mobility Week," which is being held in Belarus from September 16 to 22 and concludes with the "Car-Free Day! Belarus for Clean Air!" event, the following traditional events were held in the Gluboksky district, aimed at attracting public attention to the problems of the impact of road transport on the environment.

On September 16, 2025, an open lesson was held at the Prozorky Secondary School of the Gluboksky District named after I.T. Buinitsky. Employees of the Gluboksky District Inspectorate and the director of the State Environmental Institution "Golubovo Garden" Yu.B. Kmita informed students of grades 6-11 about the work of the district's environmental protection service, as well as about the work being carried out in the Republic of Belarus to reduce pollutant emissions from transport. At the end of the event, thematic leaflets were distributed to the participants.

As part of Mobility Week, the Gluboksky Inspectorate held a discussion and distributed informational leaflets to the heads of organizations in the city, as well as to female drivers.

Many organizations in the city of Glubokoye supported the environmental initiative within the framework of Mobility Week and encouraged their employees who arrived at work using public transport or personal mobility devices. For example, the heads of the Glubokoye Bakery and OOO "Speykom Investment" presented employees with sweet gifts.

Thematic information for Car-Free Day is available at the Glubokoye Central District Library. Anyone can get the necessary information, and library staff tell the youngest readers about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, as well as about the problems of the impact of road transport on the environment.

As part of the Year of Improvement and the Car-Free Day, OJSC "Glubokoye Dairy Canning Plant" carried out repair work on the personal mobility parking lot located opposite the plant in Glubokoye, 131 Lenin Street.

A bike ride "Unity is Strength!" was held in Glubokoye, dedicated to two important events: National Unity Day and Car-Free Day. Participants of the event rode through the city streets, symbolizing the unity and cohesion of the residents. The final point of the route was September 17 Square, where an educational excursion about the history of their native city was organized for the participants. The bike ride became a vivid example of how a sporting event can unite people around important ideas such as environmental care and national unity.

The Glubokoye District Inspectorate, the Glubokoye Regional Organization "BRSM", and students of the Glubokoye State College organized and held a bike ride dedicated to Car-Free Day. Participants of the event rode through the city streets, with Lake Beloye being the final destination.

- We are very pleased to see such activity from young people. Car-Free Day is not only a call to give up cars for one day, but also an opportunity to think about our daily habits. Cycling, walking, public transport – all of this contributes to improving the environment and our health. We hope that such events will become regular and attract even more concerned people, - noted the head of the inspectorate A.A. Kazak.
