A phone conversation between the Presidents of Belarus and Russia, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, took place on August 17. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The heads of state discussed the regional situation, taking into account the talks held in Alaska. The Russian leader informed his Belarusian counterpart in detail about the results of the "Russia-USA" summit.

The leaders of the two countries also touched upon certain issues of bilateral Belarusian-Russian relations during the conversation.
