A phone conversation between the Presidents of Belarus and Russia took place on the evening of April 7. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
Vladimir Putin called Alexander Lukashenko and thanked him for the detention of the largest batch of especially dangerous cargo - explosives. It was attempted to be transported to Russia the day before. The Belarusian customs authorities thwarted the attempt to import it. It was established that this is a highly potent explosive substance, a small amount of which can lead to the most serious consequences.
The President of Russia asked to convey gratitude and, as far as possible, to encourage the specialists and experts who discovered and identified the dangerous cargo.
In addition, the heads of state discussed upcoming meetings, including those at the end of April in Volgograd, agreeing to discuss current cooperation issues in detail during their meeting and to exchange views on a wide range of topics in general.
Also during the conversation, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin discussed the upcoming Belarusian-Russian exercises "West-2025" and briefly touched upon the situation in the zone of the special military operation.
