Lukashenko assessed Dynamo's performance in the KHL playoffs
April 4, 2025
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting on providing support to physical culture and sports organizations, commented on Dynamo's victorious match against CSKA in the KHL playoffs, Belta correspondent reports.
"It's too early. Very, very early. What happened yesterday is atypical for Minsk Dynamo. They can play excellently, and then fail the next day. So, let's see what happens tomorrow. But the way you acted nobly in the third period… And CSKA are also good, they didn't force an open door, they didn't try to score from scratch. And we didn't try to finish them off, to score," noted Alexander Lukashenko.
At the same time, the President recalled that in the second period, the Minsk team, having taken the lead, relaxed. "This is unacceptable. If you're supposed to row with two oars, you have to row with two. And they already started playing with one hand on the stick in the second period," said the head of state.
As reported, Minsk Dynamo hockey players crushed CSKA in the fifth match of the KHL playoff series. The game took place at Minsk-Arena. Thus, Dmitry Kvartalnov's team took the lead in the best-of-seven series (3-2). The Dynamo players are one step away from a historic quarter-final appearance in the Gagarin Cup, and our guys will try to achieve it on April 5 in Moscow. In case of a loss on Saturday, the "Bisons" opponents will return to Minsk for a decisive seventh match on April 7.
