Lukashenko signed a decree on the implementation of an investment project for the introduction of 5G technology in Belarus

On April 1, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 139 "On the Implementation of an Investment Project". The document is aimed at further developing modern telecommunication network infrastructure in Belarus based on the introduction of new information and communication technologies for the benefit of the state, citizens, and businesses. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The decree provides for the creation of a cellular mobile telecommunication network using IMT-2020 (5G) technology under a single infrastructure operator model, including a unified cellular mobile telecommunication network using LTE (4G) technology within this network.
As a result of the project implementation, it is planned to improve the accessibility and quality of mobile communication and internet speed through the active introduction of 5G technology and increased coverage of the country with LTE technology.
