President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has instructed to establish iron order in the Vitebsk region's agro-industrial complex by January 1. He announced this at a meeting in Vitebsk, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"I did not come to the Vitebsk region to scare you. We have been working together for 30 years, you know my approaches. If you did not understand me, deceived me, everything will be tightened to the extreme," said the Belarusian leader. Alexander Lukashenko suggested a scheme for action at different levels: "After today's meeting, the heads of district executive committees will call the chief specialists and managers and convey this toughest conversation to them. They will be given until November 7 – you have no more time – to establish iron order in the farms. They – managers and specialists – should gather tractor drivers, milkmaids, and others there. And by January 1, everything you have should be polished and cleaned."
If there is a shortage of personnel for this in some farms, the President has instructed to attract patron assistance from other enterprises. "People came, did the work, restored it," he said. "That's it, guys. The nonsense is over," Alexander Lukashenko warned. At the same time, he noted that everyone will be treated humanely, but on the condition of honest and responsible work: "I know your labor. If you are negligent, cover up for each other, if you hide shortcomings and report to me not what is needed (I later spend huge amounts of money to extract the true information), there will be no forgiveness. Understand me as you wish." "For someone, this region is native. For me, the entire republic is native. We must establish order and hand over the reins of government to the youth. But we must establish it. This is a disgrace (the current state of affairs in the region. - Ed. BELTA)," the Belarusian leader emphasized. - Do you want war? We don't need war. We need an economy." "Guys, either you start working, or we will build relationships with you differently. I'm telling you frankly. I have the right to do so. Because you have deceived me more than once under three governors. I have told you the facts. Therefore, I have the right to ask you. Of course, I could smile, say that tomorrow we will fix something, scold you in private, give instructions and leave. This is not my style. I told you directly, to your face. I have the right to do so - constitutional and as a person who has gone through the path that you are going through now," Alexander Lukashenko noted. "That's it, guys, the nonsense is over. From January 1 of this year," the head of state emphasized again. - Go and establish order." This requirement of the President - on mandatory order establishment and active measures - equally applies to the situation in the industrial sector. "We have enterprises in industry that have failed today. They are sitting around waiting for something. What are you waiting for? Get a move on, starting from South Africa and ending at the North Pole. And you will come and say how many tractors, how many combines you have sold while running to the North Pole," the head of state said. The geography of exports needs to be expanded by following the example of Belarus's actions in Zimbabwe, where domestic equipment and technologies are now readily acquired because they have become convinced of Belarus's reliability as a trade and economic partner and its interest in developing cooperation. Similarly, relations with Libya are now being activated, and as a consequence, the volume of mutual trade is increasing.
