Life will force Poland and the Baltic states to build normal relations with Belarus and Russia. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with Governor of the Rostov Region Yuri Slyusar, a BELTA correspondent reports.
"Lithuanians are squealing and yelping now: open the border. We haven't closed it. And we have never treated Poles, Lithuanians, or Latvians badly. They are our neighbors, where can we go? Yes, they are controlled from outside today," Alexander Lukashenko noted. "You know, life will force... Other people will come to power who will see interests in Belarus and Russia, as it was before. Why (was it. - BELTA note) to lose these markets, to lose such good relations?"
Speaking about decisions that harmed Lithuania, the head of state cited the example of the closure of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant. "When they destroyed the Ignalina nuclear power plant under the guise of a green economy, we warned them: don't do it, you will need it. No, they closed it, destroyed it, stole it. And they interfered with us building this station (referring to the Belarusian NPP. - BELTA note)," the President emphasized.
At the same time, the Belarusian leader noted, during the construction of the nuclear power plant in Belarus, he invited Lithuanian specialists in this field to the country, who turned out to be in demand in their country. "We were building it, and I invited Lithuanian specialists (they had problems in Lithuania): come to our station, we will work. Moreover, we needed personnel. They thought we couldn't do without them. Together with the Russians, we solved this problem. There are about three thousand people working at our station, and another thousand will be needed for the third power unit," the President concluded.
