Motorcycle Movement Without Violations 2023

The State Traffic Inspectorate of the Public Security Militia of the Glubokoye District Department of Internal Affairs is holding a republican preventive campaign from April 27 to May 9, 2023, to prevent road traffic accidents involving motorcycles, titled "Motorcycle Movement Without Violations!".

State Traffic Inspectorate officers remind that annually in April-May, the problem of injuries to road users due to the fault of drivers of two-wheeled motor vehicles becomes more acute. In January-March 2023, 10 road traffic accidents (hereinafter referred to as RTAs) involving motorcycles occurred on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, in which 12 people were injured and 2 people died.

We would like to remind you that it is necessary to ride a motorcycle wearing a helmet and not to carry passengers without one, and to ride with the low beam headlights constantly on. Timely registration of vehicles and their passing of state technical inspection are mandatory. It is also unacceptable for persons without a driver's license to drive a motorcycle, as well as while in a state of alcoholic intoxication.
When driving a two-wheeled vehicle, you should always assess the road situation and take all necessary actions to ensure safety: do not exceed the established speed and avoid reckless, risky maneuvers into oncoming traffic lanes. After all, it is in such situations that collisions with the most severe consequences occur. The severity of the consequences of such RTAs is significantly influenced by the lack of driving skills or driving a motorcycle while intoxicated, elementary disregard for the rules and non-compliance with the requirements for the use of motorcycle helmets by drivers and passengers while driving, as well as carrying passengers in excess of the number provided for by the technical specifications.
In addition, the State Traffic Inspectorate calls on car drivers to

increased concentration on the road. To avoid becoming a participant in a road traffic accident with two-wheeled vehicles, car drivers, when performing a maneuver, must ensure its safety. This is especially true when exiting from adjacent territories and secondary roads. When driving, motorists are advised to look in the mirrors and consider that a motorcycle may be moving between lanes. When changing lanes in the same direction, you need to repeatedly make sure that there are no approaching motorcycles in the desired lane.
