September 26 – Unified Safety Day

On September 26, 2024, the Unified Safety Day will be held. Its purpose is to train the population in actions during fires, emergencies, and first aid to victims. On this day, preventive events will be held throughout the country.

Since 2021, according to the decision of the Commission on Emergency Situations under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, the Unified Safety Day is held on the Thursday of the fourth week of September throughout the republic.

The objectives of the USD are to jointly form a culture of life safety in society, conduct educational and upbringing work with the younger generation, and promote safe living conditions for the population. The goal of this event is to minimize the loss of life from external causes, including fires.

This year, large-scale events within the framework of the USD are planned for September 26. Preventive measures to prevent fires and other emergencies, training in proper behavior during fires, as well as practicing evacuation plans and providing first aid to victims will be held in educational institutions, enterprises, organizations, and places with mass gatherings of people.

The issue of human life safety in modern conditions is one of the most pressing.

The human environment is rapidly changing, which has become particularly noticeable in recent decades. Human life is impossible without the use of modern technologies; people continue to improve production and create more convenient and attractive living conditions for themselves. However, technological progress has a downside. In our age of scientific technologies and developments, man-made accidents occur more and more frequently worldwide each year. The causes of such emergencies are varied: violation of production technology, aging and wear of equipment.

However, the main cause is still the human factor, when the life and health of a large number of people are endangered due to the mistake of one person.
