Do not leave children unattended

In order to draw attention to the problem of children's mischief with fire and the death of children in fires, to reduce the number of emergencies involving children and to ensure their general safety (at home, on the street, during recreation, at reservoirs, etc.), from May 3 to June 1, a republican campaign "Do not leave children unattended!" will be held in the Gluboksky district, as well as in all regional and district centers, dedicated to the International Day of Families and the International Children's Day.

In order to draw attention to the problem of children's mischief with fire and the death of children in fires, to reduce the number of emergencies involving children and to ensure their general safety (at home, on the street, during recreation, at reservoirs, etc.), from May 3 to June 1, a republican campaign "Do not leave children unattended!" will be held in the Gluboksky district, as well as in all regional and district centers, dedicated to the International Day of Families and the International Children's Day.

The simple wording – "children's mischief" – has firmly entered the terminology of rescuers in recent years. We hear it, we remember it, but somehow every time the same thing happens… Statistics of accidents and fires show that most of them occur due to children's mischief. Unfortunately, parents realize too late what an irreparable mistake they made by leaving their children at home alone without supervision. The first and main mistake is children left at home unsupervised, regardless of whether the family is prosperous or not. Trouble does not bypass anyone. It is important to understand this. Otherwise, there is an opinion in society that children die only in negligent families. Meanwhile, even in quite prosperous families, parents sometimes forget about the danger.
The psychology of a child is such that in case of fire, he does not run away, but begins to hide from the fire – in a closet, under a bed. And this is very dangerous, one can quickly suffocate from carbon monoxide, and it is also more difficult for rescuers to find the child. Parents should explain to children: if a fire starts, the most important thing is to attract attention: call by phone, shout loudly, and, of course, get out of the burning room as quickly as possible. Anyone who has seen a fire at least once knows how much grief it can cause. And we must try to instill

this to children from an early age. They must learn that fire must be handled with care.
