Rescuers know firsthand about the detrimental effect of habits such as alcohol consumption and smoking on human life. And the expression "smoking kills" takes on quite concrete outlines in light of the operational reports of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. In order to prevent fires and deaths from them due to careless handling of fire while smoking, from November 1 to 30, a republican preventive campaign "Don't Burn Your Life Out!" will be held in the Vitebsk region, which will take place in 3 stages.

The first stage will last from November 1 to 12. The campaign will be held at enterprises and organizations, in catering establishments and cultural and leisure centers. Events will be held in the form of interactive discussions and intellectual QUIZ games, as well as with persons abusing alcoholic beverages, on the basis of day care departments of drug dispensaries, public law and order centers, and Safety Centers.

"NoSmokingQuiz", thematic programs, open dialogues, the "SuperStudent" competition and thematic discos will be held in universities and secondary vocational schools, lyceums and colleges as part of the 2nd stage from November 16 to 20.

The second stage will also include events for persons abusing alcoholic beverages, on the basis of day care departments at regional drug dispensaries. The meetings will consist of a preventive discussion with the viewing of thematic films and practical exercises on thematic platforms. To consolidate the acquired knowledge, participants will be given visual materials. Representatives of the Department of Internal Affairs and Healthcare will join the Ministry of Emergency Situations in this endeavor.

The final stage will be held from November 26 to 30 in places of mass gathering of people, rural councils and other open areas. Participants of the campaign will be invited to the "Show without Cigarettes" program, offered to participate in the "I don't smoke in bed" photo session, and will be given visual materials.
