Don't wait for a squirrel – put out your cigarette butt!

Since the beginning of the year, 1093 fires have occurred in the Republic (629 fires in 2020), resulting in 166 deaths (107 deaths in 2020), including 1 child. In the Vitebsk region, 158 fires have occurred (105 fires in 2020), resulting in 27 deaths (22 deaths in 2020).

As part of the information and propaganda campaign "Don't Wait for a Squirrel – Put Out Your Cigarette!", rescuers once again remind that according to clause 5.2 of the Fire Safety Rules, citizens are PROHIBITED from leaving lit candles, SMOKING IN BED OR OTHER SLEEPING AREAS, discarding unextinguished cigarettes, matches from window openings, balconies (loggias) of apartment buildings, into garbage chutes, garbage containers, bins, urns on the adjacent territory.
