“Don’t burn your life away!” – under this slogan, employees of the Glubokoye District Department for Emergency Situations are conducting fire prevention work in the district on weekends.

Employees of the Glubokoye District Department for Emergency Situations carried out activities to visit the households of categorized citizens.

– During the “Don’t burn your life away” campaign, we talk about one of the most important components of our lives – safety. We pay special attention to one of the most common causes of fires – careless handling of fire while smoking, – the head of the department, Vasily Zavodsky, addresses citizens while conducting preventive work in the residential sector.

As part of the fire prevention work, rescuers explain to each participant of the “Don’t burn your life away” campaign that an unextinguished cigarette butt can lead to the loss of not only property and health, but also life.

It is no secret to anyone that alcohol and a smoldering cigarette are a dangerous tandem.

— Such seemingly harmless actions as “take out-smoke-throw away” can lead to a tragic chain: “light up-drink-fall asleep.” Causing smoldering, the cigarette butt itself goes out after some time, but the smoldering source it created turns into a fire, — conveys a simple but important thought the inspector of the supervision and prevention sector of the Glubokoye District Department for Emergency Situations, Konstantin Yakhimovich.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations employees confirm every word with examples of fires that occurred due to careless handling of fire. They emphasize smoking while intoxicated.

The participants turned out to be communicative, and a dialogue ensued on various topics: stove heating, fire alarms, and electrical equipment.

— I don’t smoke, but I understand the importance of following all the rules. And I am interested in the issue of the operation of an autonomous fire alarm, where is the best place to install it? – clarifies one of the residents of the private sector.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations employees explained in detail and visually demonstrated the operation of the fire alarm: they recommended that the interlocutor install the useful device in every living room.

The inspector of the propaganda and public relations sector of the Glubokoe Regional Department for Emergency Situations, in an interactive dialogue format, spoke about fires that occurred in the republic, region, and district due to careless handling of fire while smoking, demonstrated the "smoker's map," and conducted a practical session on the use of primary fire extinguishing means – a fire extinguisher.

Participating in the preventive conversation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations employee, citizens once again noted for themselves that a healthy lifestyle is the key to longevity. All participants were given visual aids.
