Domestic violence is a recurring cycle with increasing frequency: physical, verbal, spiritual, and economic abuse with the aim of control, intimidation, instilling fear by one family member towards another or others; situations in which one person controls or attempts to control the behavior and feelings of another.

How not to become a victim of a domestic tyrant? What to do if violence is already occurring in your family?

1. If a critical situation arises, try to leave the apartment immediately.

2. If the abuse is systematic, you should pack the most essential items in advance and leave them in a safe place – with relatives or friends.

3. Always keep documents, keys, and money in a place where you can quickly take them with you when leaving the apartment.

4. Ask the neighbors you trust the most to call the police if they hear screams from your apartment.

5. If you cannot leave the apartment, you must:

lock yourself in a room and try to call the police;

call friends or neighbors and ask them to come to your aid;

loudly call for help;

open the windows, try to attract the attention of passers-by and ask them for help.

6. If you still manage to escape from home, shout and call for help. Even if

no one will leave, at least it can cool down the attacker, and you will have witnesses to the incident in case you contact the police later.

The following can help you solve domestic violence problems:

1. Law enforcement agencies. If you have been subjected to domestic violence, contact the Glubokskoye District Department of Internal Affairs by phone 102, 3–08–59.
