The State Automobile Inspectorate reminds that if the driver's exhaled air contains up to 0.8 per mille of alcohol, they face a fine of 100 basic units and deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for three years; if it is over 0.8 or the driver refuses a medical examination, the fine is 200 basic units and deprivation for 5 years. In case of repeated violation within a year, the driver will be brought to criminal responsibility with subsequent confiscation of the vehicle.

In addition, it is important to know that only having a driver's license gives a driver the right to operate vehicles on the roads of the Republic of Belarus. Citizens can obtain the relevant document after completing a course of theoretical and practical driving training and successfully passing a qualifying examination at the State Automobile Inspectorate.
