From November 6 to November 26, 2023, as part of additional measures to combat crimes against the sexual inviolability or sexual freedom of minors, a republican operational and preventive complex is being carried out in the Glubokoye district.

Negative trends in the commission of crimes against the sexual inviolability or sexual freedom of minors continue to persist in the Republic of Belarus. The largest increase in crimes was recorded in the Vitebsk region. The number of minor victims increased 4.3 times compared to 2022, from 90 to 388.

This problem has also affected our district. In the past period of 2023, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus initiated 7 criminal cases against 3 residents of Glubokoye and the Glubokoye district for crimes related to the sexual inviolability and sexual freedom of minors, as well as for the production of pornographic materials involving minors.

The main goal of the complex is to encourage the public to immediately report to the police any sexual acts committed against children. This will help law enforcement officers take timely response measures.

The set of measures involves joint work with all interested prevention entities. In particular, with employees of education, healthcare, as well as public associations. Police officers will inform specialists about the mechanism for early detection of pedophilia and other unlawful behavior.

The high latency of crimes related to sexual violence against children allows the perpetrator to remain outside the attention of law enforcement officers for a long time, and their victims —

to further violence. This is why this prevention is carried out, primarily to identify and prevent such crimes.

If you have become a victim of a crime or have information about a committed crime, please contact the police immediately at the address: Glubokoe, pl. September 17, 5 or by phone: (029) 597-21-74 (MTS), (02156) 30859 .
