On the death of a person in a fire

On July 31, around 6 a.m., the "101" duty service of Glubokoye received a report that a residential building was on fire on Yuzepa Drozda Street in the village of Leplyane. Four fire crews were immediately dispatched to the specified address.

When the Ministry of Emergency Situations workers arrived at the scene, open combustion of the house's roof was observed.

Rescuers immediately began to extinguish the fire and search for people inside the burning house. During the reconnaissance, the charred body of the owner, born in 1966, was discovered in a living room on a bed.

As a result of the fire, the roof and ceiling were destroyed, and the walls and property were damaged.

The cause of the fire is being established. The considered version of the cause of the fire is careless handling of fire while smoking by the deceased.

To avoid becoming a hero of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports, you should know and observe safety rules, namely:

1.              Refrain from smoking in the house, and certainly do not smoke in bed under any circumstances. Moreover, smoking in bed is not only dangerous but also prohibited by law. Fire safety rules prohibit smoking in bed.

2.              Do not throw cigarette butts on the floor, but put them in an ashtray, a metal can, or a non-combustible container filled with water.

3.              Make sure that the cigarette is not only not burning but also not smoldering.

4.              Do not scatter cigarette butts under any circumstances.

5.              Never smoke while intoxicated.
