About drinking water supply

The Prosecutor's Office of the Glubokoye District conducted an inspection of compliance with the legislation regulating the provision of drinking water supply to the population in the district.

During the inspection, it was established that the issues of providing residents with drinking water of adequate quality from water sources are relevant for the district.

Thus, there are 14 sources of non-centralized drinking water supply (public wells) in the Glubokoye District.

The District Prosecutor's Office, together with the State Institution "Glubokoye District Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology," conducted sample surveys of wells, during which violations of the Specific Sanitary and Epidemiological Requirements for the maintenance and operation of drinking water supply sources and systems, approved by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of December 19, 2018 No. 914, were identified regarding the maintenance of these water supply sources.

Issues of improper maintenance of wells arise from the absence of a balance holder for non-centralized water supply sources.

In addition, during the inspection of artesian wells of 4 agricultural organizations in the district, violations of sanitary and epidemiological requirements were found regarding the maintenance of the territories of the first sanitary protection zones in an improper condition (lack of fencing, un-mowed dry vegetation, etc.).

Also, the results of water samples taken from the aforementioned artesian wells showed exceeding indicators for turbidity and iron content.

In order to eliminate the identified violations, the District Prosecutor's Office has prepared a corresponding supervision act.
