Dangers of pyrotechnic products

When purchasing such items, remember a few rules that will help avoid tragic consequences.

All types of pyrotechnics are intended for outdoor use!

Basic safety measures when handling pyrotechnics:

1. Before using pyrotechnic devices, it is necessary to clearly determine in advance: where you will set off the fireworks, which pyrotechnic devices you will use, and how you will organize their display;

2. Choose a location for the fireworks. Ideally, this can be a large open area – a yard, a square, or a meadow – free from trees and buildings;

3. Carefully inspect the chosen location. In the vicinity (within a radius of 100 meters), there should be no fire hazardous objects, parking lots, cars, wooden sheds or garages, etc.;

4. In strong winds, the size of the danger zone downwind should be increased by 3-4 times;

5. Think in advance about where the spectators will be. They need to be provided with a good view and safety. To do this, place them at a distance of 35-50 meters from the fireworks launch site, making sure they are on the windward side so that the wind does not carry smoke and unburned parts of the devices towards them. Standing further away is not only safer but also more convenient for watching fireworks; you don't have to tilt your head back and search for a flying rocket with your eyes.

If your yard is small and cramped, you can use a limited range of products, mainly ground-based: firecrackers, party poppers, Catherine wheels, and spinners, but in no case launch devices that fly upwards – rockets, butterflies, and the like. It is strictly forbidden to use them near residential buildings and other structures: they can fly into a window or vent, get into the attic or onto the roof, and cause a fire. Try to move further away from home and find a more suitable location.
