An increase in fires due to burning dry vegetation is prompting rescuers to conduct enhanced preventive work with the public.

EMERCOM employees organized raids in rural settlements of the Obruchevsky village council to monitor the fire hazard situation. Rescuers were interested in the presence of dry vegetation, maintaining the adjacent territory in a fire-safe condition, and the maintenance of fire breaks.

Conversations were held with citizens who were tidying up their plots about the inadmissibility of burning dry vegetation, as well as the measures of responsibility for this violation.

In addition, monitoring was carried out for the presence of abandoned and dilapidated buildings in the visited village councils. As a rule, dry vegetation is most often found near such buildings. The absence of owners often leads to no one looking after the building. Information about such buildings will be sent to rural executive committees, where the fate of these structures will be decided.

The EMERCOM reminds that burning dry vegetation, post-harvest residues, and grass is strictly prohibited. Administrative liability is provided for violation of these requirements.
