The heating device must be safe!

Annually, fires related to violations of the installation rules for stoves and heat-generating units occur in our district. In this regard, we would like to remind you that only serviceable heating appliances can be operated. When installing stoves, it is necessary to comply with the requirements of the construction norms of the Republic of Belarus SN 4.02.03-2019 "Heating, ventilation and air conditioning". The main requirements are shown in the diagram.

Before the start of the heating season, the stove, wall flues within the premises, as well as chimneys in the attic must be plastered and whitewashed. This is necessary to detect cracks in the chimney at an early stage and take measures to eliminate them. The condition of the chimneys must be checked, and they must be cleaned of soot before the start of the heating season and when the draft deteriorates during operation.

Ash, coals, and slag removed from stoves must be doused with water until completely extinguished.

When operating stove heating, the following is not allowed:

operating faulty stoves;

using flammable and combustible liquids to ignite stoves;

using firewood whose length exceeds the firebox dimensions for heating stoves;

heating stoves with open doors (doors must be closed with a serviceable locking device);

overheating stoves;

leaving stoves unattended while heating, as well as entrusting their supervision to children;

heating stoves with coal, coke, and gas that are not designed for these types of fuel.
