Memory of the tragedy: Deep residents honored the memory of the Jewish ghetto prisoners

On this day, the city's residents traditionally gather in the square on Chkalov Street to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust.

The rally held on this day becomes a symbol of unity and remembrance of the tragic events of the past. Participants lay flowers at the memorial, paying tribute to the fallen. The observance of Jewish tradition – placing stones at the memorial site, symbolizing eternal remembrance of the victims – holds particular significance.

Such events not only preserve the memory of tragic past events but also serve as an important reminder of the need for a careful attitude towards peace and humanity in the present and future.

– For 80 years, peace and tranquility have reigned on our land. It was the victory over fascism that was of fateful importance for the Belarusian people and forged the best traits of the national character – patriotism, love of freedom, faith, and optimism, which helped and continue to help overcome any difficulties. And which are so necessary for us today.

It is precisely today that we need to unite; we cannot allow erroneous and rash decisions; today it is important to listen, and most importantly, to hear each other.

Today, we all bear responsibility for the future of our state. We are united by love for our Motherland, loyalty to traditions, and a sincere desire to make our Motherland even stronger and more beautiful, – noted Vera Telitsa, Chairperson of the Glubokoye District Council of Deputies, speaking at the rally dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Glubokoye ghetto.

– We are fortunate not to have known those terrible days, filled with pain, blood, and betrayal, that befell the Jewish people.

We, the generation of the 21st century, bear a special responsibility for building a world based on mutual respect and love. As heirs of a victorious people, we take on the responsibility for the fate of our native Glubochchyna and our entire Motherland – the Republic of Belarus, – stated Yana Romanovskaya, First Secretary of the district committee of the public association «Belarusian Republican Youth Union».
