The patriotic event "Candle of Remembrance" was held in Victory Park in Glubokoye

Vera Telitsa, Chairperson of the Glubokoye District Council of Deputies, addressed the participants of the patriotic event:

– We will always remember the tragic date – June 22, 1941. This is not only a day of mourning. It is a reminder of the importance of peace and the price paid by the Soviet people. The war left deep scars on the land and in people's souls. We gratefully remember those who defended the Fatherland on the battlefields and worked selflessly in the rear. Our sacred duty is to preserve the memory of the people's feat. We must do everything possible to prevent the horrors of war from recurring, and for Belarus to develop and prosper.

– Today is the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow for all those who gave their lives during the Great Patriotic War for us, for the sake of a peaceful sky above us. Our task, as youth, is to preserve this memory in our hearts, – said Yana Romanovskaya, First Secretary of the District Committee of the BRSM, addressing the participants of the event.

– Today is a day of remembrance for those people who defended our Motherland and a peaceful sky. We must preserve this memory actively and through prayer.

We pray for those who gave their lives for our lives. We thank God for the Victory, for the opportunity to live in a peaceful and calm country, – said Father Sergey Gromyko, rector of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Glubokoye, and conducted a prayer service for all victims of the Great Patriotic War.

Participants of the patriotic event "Candle of Memory" honored the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War, lit lamps, and laid flowers at the monument on the mass grave in Victory Park, Glubokoye.
