Negotiations between Belarus and Russia on gas prices are in the final stage, reported the Minister of Energy of Belarus Denis Moroz, answering questions from deputies after the presentation of the draft law "On the Ratification of the Treaty between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation on the Formation of a Unified Electricity Market of the Union State," according to a BELTA correspondent. "Negotiations are underway regarding gas. We have achieved significant progress in the past three-year period and an agreement to fix the price of natural gas for the Republic of Belarus for three years. This three-year period ends this year. Currently, negotiations on the formation of the cost of natural gas for the Republic of Belarus are being finalized. We expect further convergence of natural gas prices for consumers in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, which in turn will lead to a convergence of the cost of electricity produced from natural gas," said Denis Moroz.
