The First Step into Adulthood: Young Voters in the Belarusian Presidential Election

The young men and women were warmly welcomed by the chairperson of the precinct election commission, Lyudmila Shipyonok. The youngest voters received the best wishes for good health, well-being, excellent studies, and a happy future in our beautiful country. Then, Lyudmila Alekseevna once again reminded the first-time voters about the voting procedure and invited them to fulfill their civic duty – to receive ballots and vote.

After the voting was completed, a pleasant surprise awaited the young people. Lyudmila Alekseevna, on behalf of the precinct election commission, presented each of them with a book specially published for the election, "Symbols of Sovereign Belarus."

Then, in a separate room where a photo zone was set up, the young voters were invited to participate in the republican campaign for first-time voters "Your Vote is FIRST!", organized by the Belarusian Republican Youth Union. The First Secretary of the district committee of the NGO "BRSM," Yana Romanovskaya, also congratulated the young people on this significant day in their lives and, together with volunteers, presented them with branded T-shirts with the campaign name.

– The pleasant emotions are, as they say, off the charts, – shares his impressions, third-year student Vladislav Beloslutsev. – We all became more mature on this day. By participating in such an important event for our entire country – the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus – we have become more serious and responsible.

– I am voting for my native Belarus! – joins the conversation, Vladislav's fellow student Daniil Andilevko. – After all, it is happiness for every person to live in a peaceful, calm country where the working person is valued and respected.

– In our country, all conditions have been created for education and obtaining a profession, – adds third-year student Elizaveta Metelitsa, supporting the guys. – Knowing the comprehensive support that the state provides to young people, we look to the future with confidence and make plans for it.
