A 53-year-old resident of Glubokoye could not resist the temptation to acquire a fishing auger for free, without considering the possible consequences of his actions.
It all started when, on one of the January days, the offender saw children's sleds with fishing gear left unattended by the owner at the entrance of a city cafe. Everything would have been fine, but the perpetrator's attention was particularly drawn to a fishing auger, which he had long dreamed of, but had never managed to acquire.
After some thought, the citizen decided to act. He drove his personal car to the entrance of the establishment and quickly loaded the sleds with all the property of the absent fisherman into it, causing the latter damage totaling over 212 rubles.
After that, he took the stolen goods to his dacha, where they were subsequently seized by police officers, and the actions of the unfortunate thief were given a legal assessment through the prism of the Criminal Code.
The court, when considering this criminal case, taking into account the personality of the accused, his positive characteristics, the presence of mitigating circumstances, as well as the position of the victim, considered it possible to release the guilty party from criminal liability for theft, while simultaneously imposing an administrative penalty in the form of a fine of 960 rubles.
In addition, by court decision, the offender's personal vehicle, as a means of committing the crime, was confiscated for the benefit of the state.
The district prosecutor's office agreed with this court decision, and the court ruling in the case has now entered into legal force.
As a result, the price for greed turned out to be too high for the guilty person, and was it worth committing such a crime. Of course not. Moreover, the accused himself only realized this after some time, especially when he learned about the confiscation of the car.
