Following the inspection

Increased requirements for the safety and quality of animal-derived food raw materials, control at every stage of animal husbandry and production of animal products, as well as the availability of a comprehensive and functioning state information system for the identification, registration, and traceability of agricultural animals (herds), and the identification and traceability of animal products are the main conditions for food exports.

Since 2016, the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Identification, Registration, and Traceability of Agricultural Animals (Herds), and the Identification and Traceability of Animal Products" (hereinafter referred to as the Law) has been in effect.

This Law applies to relations arising from the breeding, raising, keeping, movement, slaughter, sale, and other use of agricultural animals within the territory of the Republic of Belarus, as well as those related to the production and sale (release into circulation) of animal products, including their processing and disposal. In other words, the Law applies to animals and animal products produced for profit.

Cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and breeding pigs, as well as animal products, are subject to identification, registration, and traceability.

Owners of agricultural animals (herds) are legal entities or individuals, including individual entrepreneurs, who own agricultural animals (herds) by right of ownership, economic management, operational management, or other legal grounds.

In accordance with the requirements of the legislation, owners of agricultural animals (herds) are obliged to ensure within seven calendar days at the latest

carrying out identification and registration of agricultural animals (herds), entering information on movement into the register, slaughter, death and loss of agricultural animals (herds), information on veterinary measures carried out in relation to the animal, and so on.

At the end of last year, the District Prosecutor's Office conducted an inspection of compliance by agricultural organizations of the Gluboksky District with the requirements of the aforementioned Law, during which a number of violations were identified.

Following the results of the inspection, response measures were taken, and 10 employees of agricultural enterprises in the region were brought to disciplinary responsibility.
